EXOTIC YOGINI
MY PURPOSE
I have created Exotic Yogini because I feel called to work with women and those who identify as feminine beings. It brings me so much joy helping others feel and see their own sexiness and discover their worth, while watching their feminine essence blossom.
I help women activate their divine feminine through conscious movement, using yoga and exotic dance. I promote body positivity and I want every woman in the world to know her worth and beauty. I want her to know she’s sexy, sensual, and sacred just by being herself. I feel deeply that if we can access our wild, and release shame and low vibrational beliefs, we can change the world!
MY STORY
My love for dance, yoga and fitness started when I was a kid. They have always been outlets for me that I can use to channel my emotions and feel ALIVE. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of following along with my mom’s Jane Fonda aerobics tapes. Between the rad outfits, singing and intense cardio, I was sold, and I knew I was made to move, teach and perform!
Yoga
I was introduced to yoga as a teenager, and by my early 20s I started to incorporate it into my fitness routine. I quickly saw yoga's potential and decided to get a Bikram studio membership. I fell in love with this high-intensity yoga and spent the next year practicing it. My practice soon led me to Ashtanga yoga, where I fell even deeper in love. To this day, it remains one of my favorite forms of yoga. When I got pregnant, I began practicing gentler and more restorative yoga at home because this is what my body craved most.
Once I started exotic dancing professionally, I naturally developed my own style of movement by blending yoga and exotic dance to warm up before going on stage. It was the melding of my two greatest passions on a side stage at a gentleman's club that planted the seed for Exotic Yogini.
I soon decided to get formal yoga training, something I had always dreamed of. This training is what really blossomed my relationship with yoga. It helped me adopt a daily practice and elevated it to a spiritual place, providing me healing through challenging times. It became romantic, meditative, and something I crave. I will never stop learning and growing from yoga, and I plan to continue my education in this realm for years to come.
Exotic Dance
In my early 20s, I formed my relationship with aerial arts. I developed a love for pole fitness in particular, which I began teaching and competing in soon after. Exotic dance made its way into my life gradually and lured me in by accident. I signed up for a class called Black Light, without any idea it was an exotic pole dance class. I was surprised a class like that was even offered in Utah. It felt borderline wrong, illegal almost. It was uncomfortable, yet intriguing at the same time. I felt so awkward and far from sexy, but once I fully opened myself up to the world of exotic dance, I developed a deep love and passion for it. It helped me gain confidence, develop love and softness for myself and others, and to feel empowered! It truly has ignited my Divine Feminine and sent me down a path of so much healing.
Fast forward a few years, I got pregnant and had my son. About a year and a half after he was born, our family was struggling financially, and I was beyond ready to get back on the horse (AKA the pole) and dance again. I decided to take my skillset to a gentleman’s club and be an exotic dancer in an effort to make as much money as possible in as little time as possible. I had no idea how much I would fall in love with my newfound career. I also had no idea how well it would provide for my family and me, or that it would lead me into the next important phase of my life—the birth of Exotic Yogini.
